As children we visited my grandmother on Daytona Beach in the summers. She owned a hotel right near the beach and boardwalk. We would visit the band shell in the evenings for concerts, walk the boardwalk and play in the sand. We always saw lots of man of wars on the shore. We visited some over the years but recently visited again as adults. Some things were the same but some were different. The old hotel was torn down many years ago. They were in the process of revamping the old band shell while we were there this time. Still, old rides on the boardwalk and the old taffy shop and swim shop.
